Tenuta Sant’Antonio
Northeast of Verona, the four Castagnedi brothers have been processing various grapes from their 48-hectare estate into beautiful wines since 1989.
Here, the very calcareous hills between the Illasi and Mezzane valleys at an altitude ranging from 120 to 320 meters above sea level form the soil for sticks of red corvinone, corvina, rondinella and cabernet sauvignon; garganega and chardonnay for whites. Initially, the family sold the harvest to the local cooperative, but by investing in the latest techniques, the Castagnedis hoped to improve the quality of their wines and make the transition to bottled wines profitable on their own domain.
