    • Description

The Amarone della Valpolicella Selezione from Tenuta Sant'Antonio is an impressive red wine from the heart of Veneto. For this prestigious Amarone, only the best Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, Croatina, and Oseleta grapes are selected. Thanks to the traditional appassimento method, where the grapes dry for about three months, a wine with exceptional concentration, depth, and elegance is created. Despite its powerful character, this Amarone remains remarkably fresh and perfectly balanced.

Ripe cherries, dark chocolate, laurel, and black pepper

The wine has a deep ruby red color and an intense aroma of ripe cherries, dried dark fruit, and blackcurrants. Additionally, refined notes of laurel, fresh herbs, black pepper, dark chocolate, and a hint of cocoa emerge. On the palate, it is powerful, rich, and velvety, with ripe tannins, a beautiful freshness, and a remarkably long, elegant finish where fruit and spiciness beautifully intertwine.

Traditional appassimento and 24 months of wood aging

The grapes are hand-harvested in several rounds and then dried for about three months. This natural drying process causes the grapes to lose moisture, greatly increasing the concentration of aromas, sugars, and flavors. After a slow fermentation, the wine then ages for 24 months in 500-liter oak barrels, followed by at least six months of bottle aging. This creates an Amarone with great complexity and excellent aging potential.

Perfect with game, truffle, red meat, and aged cheeses

This Amarone is an ideal companion for game dishes, truffle risotto, grilled beef, lamb, slow-cooked stews, and poultry. Its rich character also fully comes into its own with aged hard cheeses. Thanks to its impressive structure, it is also a wine to leisurely enjoy on its own.

      Tenuta Sant'Antonio

Tenuta Sant'Antonio is one of the most renowned wineries in Valpolicella. The four Castagnedi brothers combine traditional viticulture with modern techniques and boast carefully maintained vineyards on limestone and clay soils. Through low yields, sustainable cultivation, and great attention to quality, the winery belongs to the absolute top of the region. Their Amarone Selezione is an excellent example of the rich yet elegant style for which Tenuta Sant'Antonio is internationally acclaimed.

Why choose Amarone della Valpolicella Selezione?

This Amarone is the perfect choice for lovers of powerful Italian red wines with great depth. The combination of ripe cherries, dried fruit, dark chocolate, spices, and soft tannins creates an impressive wine that is already wonderfully drinkable, but will also continue to develop for years to come.
