Maison Louis Jadot was founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot. Originally it was primarily a trading house, but today it owns more than 225 hectares of its own vineyards. The entire range includes wines from Chablis, Côte d'Or, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâconnais and Beaujolais, in the latter case mostly made at its own Château des Jacques. The starting point for all wines is that each vineyard has its own characteristics and that the terroir is therefore leading. For this reason, nature is allowed to take its course as much as possible and winemaker Frédéric Barnier strives to intervene as little as possible during the vinification process. As a result, there is no such thing as a general 'Jadot style', but each wine from Louis Jadot has its own character.
