Prinz Riesling Frühernberg Erste Lage 2019
A complex powerful wine with a sweet start, impressions of licorice citrus and lime. The mouthfeel is tight and elegant with a dry mild aftertaste in the final. The wine has a very long maturation potential.
Grapes : Riesling
The grapes from the Frühernberg vineyard come from 45-year-old sticks and the soil consists of sand and slate. The vineyard has a very favorable south-facing location.
The poor soil and the rich sunlight yield concentrated grapes.
Yields are low and the grapes are harvested in early or mid-October when they are golden yellow, almost overripe and very aromatic. Vinification takes place entirely in stainless steel. The name Frühernberg comes from the location of the vineyard. Due to the favorable southern position, the growth of the grapes earlier in the season and ripen longer.
ALCOHOL PERCENTAGE : 13.00%
This wine combines very nicely with sea bass with lemon and bay leaf because of its fresh and spicy character. Or a baked trout with almonds.
Origin : Germany, Rheingau, municipality of Hallgarten.
The winery of Sabine and Fred Prinz is located in the municipality of Hallgarten, the highest part of the Rheingau. Initially their domain was one and a half hectares in size, nowadays the more than ten hectares extend over the Hallgartener Hendelberg, Jungfer and Schönhell. Ninety percent of this is planted with Riesling, the rest with Spätburgunder. The highest vineyards are composed of hard rocks such as gravel, sandstone and slate. These soils usually produce flawless and characteristically mineral Rheingau Rieslings. The sandy, loamy and calcareous lower plots produce full-bodied and powerful wines.
Weingut Prince is a member of the Association Deutscher Prädikats- und Qualitäts-weingüter (VDP) and has become synonymous for fantastic wines that excel in elegance and refinement.
